The Middle East’s largest education fair, the Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX) Dubai 2006 will be inaugurated on, Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at the hands of Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mubarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre.

This year, GETEX has brought to the Middle East, diverse specialist tools and technologies at a dedicated segment on Education Equipment and Supply. These technologies are being increasingly deployed by managements and education providers across the Middle East, as a means of enhancing student participation in learning, improving teacher performance and upgrading the quality of regional education in the competitive world of global education.
The 18th edition of GETEX has assembled more than 500 exhibitors from 41 countries, who over these three days, will showcase their academic programmes, scholarships, education consultancy services, human resource development strategies and corporate training programmes, technological products and solutions for students and parents, teaching fraternity, professionals and trainers, education managements, corporate organisations, technology manufacturers and suppliers from the UAE, other GCC states, the Indian Subcontinent, Iran and other neighbouring countries.
GETEX also features 90 presentations, in both Arabic and English, at a host of free seminars and workshops that are being held on the sidelines of the main exhibition, highlighting various aspects of Special Needs education, Learning Technology, Academic and Life Choices and other academic themes.
Two annual day-long conferences titled – The Middle East Forum for Academic Research and Reflection; and The Global Training and Human Resource Development Forum—are also taking place concurrently with the main event.
GETEX Dubai 2006 will be open to visitors on Wednesday, April 12 from 10 AM to 1 PM and 5 PM to 9 PM, and on Thursday, April 13 and Friday, April 14, from 2 PM to 10 PM. Admission to the exhibition is free.
The Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX) is the largest education fair in the Middle East region. Organised by International Conferences & Exhibitions (IC&E), GETEX is held under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Education and enjoys the support of Dubai Knowledge Village, the region’s biggest ensemble of institutes of higher education, and the British Council in Dubai.
In the 18th successive year of showing, GETEX is providing a forum to educational and training institutes from almost every region of the world. The 17th GETEX, held in April 2005 in Dubai, attracted 438 institutions from 38 countries and an audience of over 27,000 students, parents, teachers and education professionals.
