The Investor, Middle East Broadcasting Corporation's (MBC) new reality show, is slated to address some of the real issues facing entrepreneurs in the current commercial environment of the Middle East. Bringing together ambitious would-be business men from across the Arab world, MBC's latest production encourages entrepreneurship in the region’s budding new business population.

The Investor puts a spotlight on the realities of business in the Middle East and tests the new generation to see if they have what it takes to succeed, the MBC show is anchored by Waleed Juffali, a businessman renowned for thinking outside of the box and who is dedicated to encouraging new talent from all around the region.

The show challenges 13 pairs of would-be entrepreneurs with intriguing new business tasks. Each couple consists of family members - be it brother and sister, in-laws, or cousins - highlighting the family aspect of business in the Arab world.

Mohammed Al Mulhem, MBC Director of Marketing, Public Relations, and Commercial, said, “The main thrust of the show was motivational, destined to appeal to the region's young population and inspire creative thinking and positive action.”

“It is important for us to always be relevant to the people of this region. Reality shows are internationally popular and sometimes provide riveting viewing, but they may not always aim to bring out positive strengths in either their participants or viewers. MBC’s commitment is not just to meet viewing needs across its broadcast footprint, but also to provide a positive reality challenge that can inspire both viewers and contestants," Al Mulhem said.

MBC felt that the “Business Edge” management training program, developed by IFC, the renowned member of the “World Bank”, was the perfect partner for “The Investor” as it has not only increased the contestants knowledge and skills, but also inspired and gave them confidence to perform at the highest levels.

The Investor commissions real tasks that require creativity, imagination and vision as well as the all-important business instinct from its contestants. The MBC Group will announce more details about the programme soon.
