COMMERCIAL and specialized vehicles will fill an imperative exhibition in Dubai later this month.
The first ‘Middle East International Commercial Vehicle Show 2006’ will take up 20,000 square metres – equivalent to four football pitches – at the Dubai Autodrome over November 27-30.
More than 60 exhibitors – representing the world’s leading manufacturers and their Middle East agents and distributors – have signed up for the show.
“The response is indicative of the tremendous growth taking place across all facets of the Dubai economy and the constant expansion in infrastructure and need for logistics,” says Kavita Dabrai, project manager of organisers Zenith Events.
“The need for specialised machinery serving the transport and construction industry is backed by corresponding demand for commercial vehicles of every kind. As the population increases and road networks expand, the role of commercial vehicles grows apace – whether to move people or goods around the city or across the whole UAE and beyond.
“Everyone involved in transport and logistics will now have the opportunity to see the best Dubai and the world has to offer in specialised commercial vehicles for every purpose – all gathered on one site.”
Key players already signed up include Belhasa Motors, Renault, Al Ghanim & Sons, Tata Motors, Higer King-long, Al Futtaim Motors, Mammut, Bison, Iran Khodro, Gulfcoen, Voith Turbo, Caterpillar, Al Dobowi, Wah Fai, Ocean City, Shac, Naffco, Supertech, Al Ghandi, Gulf Oil, Al Nabooda Automobiles, Eicher and International brands – new and key players.
As well as trucks, buses, trailers and attachments needed by Dubai’s booming construction, transportation and logistics industries, special-purpose items such as ambulances, fire-engines, and armoured security vehicles will also be prominent.
The show is organised by Zenith Events and supported by Dubai Civil Defence, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Civil Aviation, Al Awir Free Zone and the UAE Contractors Association.
“Our new show creates a focal point for suppliers and users to experience the best in current technology and provides a meeting place to share needs and solutions,” says Dabrai. “The value to both sectors is reflected in the overwhelming response we have had from prospective exhibitors and from everyone involved in the interactive industries.”
The show will also feature demonstrations by exhibitors and training sessions for driving commercial vehicles by the Emirates Driving Institute and will be open from 3.30 pm – 9.00 pm on all four days.
