Mass Wedding to Be Held in Iran for 8,600 Couples

A mass wedding for 8,600 young Iranian couples has been arranged by the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee to be held on the anniversary of the birth of Imam Reza (AS), on Monday, February 5th, Iran's official news agency (IRNA) reported.  

According to the report, the mass wedding will take place simultaneously in different parts of the country.  

The committee has to date organized weddings for thousands of young couples throughout the country on various occasions, the agency said. 

The bride's dowry, which includes certain essential household appliances, are to be provided by the committee for each couple, the report said. 

Earlier, Tehran Times has reported that a mass wedding will be held for 14,000 Iranian students in March in the context of a campaign to encourage young people to get married -- Albawaba.com
