Markko Martin World Rally Driver at the Dubai Kartdrome

Estonian Markko Martin World Rally Driver visited the Dubai Kartdrome yesterday where he drove on the 1.2 CIK approved Karting circuit. Martin and his friends drove a 30 minutes endurance race with the participation of Roger Feghali, Lebanese Rally Driver who was invited to drive as well. The pair showed all their skills in the race as they competed closely. Martin had the upper hand in the first 15 minutes but it was roger and his team who took the chequered flag first recording as well the fastest time of the race with 1:13.171.


After the race Martin said: “I enjoyed the drive a lot; the track is very nice and challenging. This is the first time I visit Dubai and my second time in the Middle East after competing in Rally of Lebanon.”

Martin (31 years) began his motor racing career in 1993. He won the Estonian Rally Championship in 1997 and 1998. His WRC debut came in 1997 when he participated in the 1000 lakes rally of Finland. He then took part in 84 rallies winning 5 and finishing second five times. His best result was in 2003 where he finished fifth overall in drivers' championship, scoring 49 points.

Feghali started his professional career in 1996 at the age of 22. Since that time, he claimed the Lebanese title four times (1997-2000) and won Rally of Lebanon four times (2000, 03,04, 06) tying Mohammed bin Sulayem's record.
