A mob in Sri Lanka’s Puttalam district has killed a Muslim man despite a nationwide curfew imposed following anti-Muslim rioting.
The mob attacked the 45-year-old man with sharp weapons, a police official told local media Monday.
He died soon after being admitted to a hospital, the official added.
Following terrorist attacks targeting churches and hotels in Colombo on Easter Sunday, April 21 which killed over 250 people and injured 500 others, the government imposed a temporary curfew and blocked social media networks for some time.
The curfew was re-imposed Monday when anti-Muslim mobs attacked mosques and Muslim-owned businesses.
