Israel's minister of education Limor Livnat and Likud general manager Arik Brami have demanded the right-wing party revoke the membership of Likud member Ohad Kamin and launch a police investigation against him for publishing an article calling for the death of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, Channel 2 news reported Sunday.
The article, published in the Jewish Leadership website operated by yet another party member, calls Sharon "an inside enemy, one who is dangerous to the nation," and calls for what may be seen as the use of violent means against the Prime Minister.
"A different language must be developed for Sharon," he wrote, "one of pressure, threats, firearms, force and sanctions."
In reaction, Livnat urged the country's attorney general Menachem Mazuz to review the article and act in accordance.
In addition, she called on the party to banish the man, saying that they cannot allow one person to stain an entire movement.
"Only a sick mind," said Brami, "can compare the Prime Minister to a Nazi criminal." He called on police officials to examine whether a larger organization exists behind Kamin and ordered the extension of security surveillance around the Prime Minister. (Albawaba.com)
