Lenovo, the new international and third-largest personal computing company in the world, today confirmed that Mr. Yang Yuanqing, chairman of the board of Lenovo Group Ltd, will be making his first visit to the Middle East during GITEX 2005. This is Mr. Yang’s first official visit to the country as the Chairman of Lenovo along with a number of senior Worldwide & EMEA Executives.

The new Lenovo has approximately $13 billion in revenues and annual product volumes of some 14 million units globally. It is among the top-three companies in the global PC market, with an approximately 7 percent global market share.

“We are very pleased to welcome Chairman Yang to the Middle East, headquarter for the first time” said Imtiaz Ghani, general manager, Lenovo MEEP. “As the company’s regional debut, GITEX marks the beginning of Lenovo’s entry into the regional market. Chairman Yang is visiting along with a number of senior EMEA executives and we are looking forward to meeting all our partners and key customers during these five days.”

Mr. Yang was the president and chief executive officer of Lenovo, responsible for the business and overall operation of the company.

Mr. Yang joined Lenovo in 1989, after graduating with a Master’s degree from the Institute of Computer Science at the University of Science and Technology of China.

His dedication and insight into market trends led him to the position of president and chief executive officer in 2001. Under Mr. Yang’s leadership, Lenovo has been China’s best-selling PC brand since 1997. Mr. Yang is also a member of the National Youth Committee, Director of China’s Entrepreneur Association, and Professor at the University of Science and Technology of China.
