Welsh singing legend Tom Jones was due to arrive from Los Angeles Wednesday to perform his concerts in the UAE for the first time in five years, reported the Gulf News.
According to the paper, the 60-year-old star has already sold-out Wednesday's 6,500 capacity gig at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, and just a handful of tickets remain for his show at The Club in Abu Dhabi.
"The public response to these concerts has been staggering," said Jackie Wartanian, managing partner of promoters CSM.
The Dubai show sold out very quickly, the VIP seating tickets run out within 10 days and the last standing tickets were snapped up on Monday, Wartanian told the English daily.
"We are still receiving a lot of calls from people who didn't manage to get their tickets for the Dubai show," she added.
Jones is going to perform two concerts, featuring old classics through to recent hits from his best selling "Reload" album, said the paper.
