Lebanon's President Lahoud left Monday for a week-long state visit to Brazil, seeking to forge stronger trade ties and make final preparations for a summit of Arab and Latin American leaders later this year in Brazil.
Lahoud and his Brazilian counterpart, President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, are due to sign commercial and economic cooperation accords during the visit in Brasilia on Tuesday.
