Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri met in London Monday his British counterpart, Tony Blair.

Talks dealt with ways to forward the Mid-East peace process and means to strengthen bilateral trade and political relations.

The foreign office said that Hariri's talks in the British capital were part of the "strategic thinking" Britain is conducting with moderate Arab countries on efforts to resolve the Mideast crisis and to secure a comprehensive solution in the region.

On Tuesday, Hariri is expected to discuss economic and trade issues in a meeting with a number of business leaders in London, the Kuwait news agency reported.

He will later meet with the head of the Anglican church, the archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. George Carey.

In the course of his stay, the Lebanese Premier also met with opposition political party leaders and a number of parliament members to discuss the latest developments in the Middle East region. (Albawaba.com)
