Two people died and six others were critically injured on Saturday when a bus skidded off a motorway near the southeastern Italian city of Foggia, police said.
Police earlier said that at least three people had died and five were injured in the accident whose cause was not immediately known.
The bus was registered in Palermo, Sicily's main city, and was heading to the northern city of Ravenna when it crashed.
Investigators said the passengers, athletes aged between 15 and 30, had planned to attend a kickboxing event -- ROME (AFP)
