Kuwait’s Parliament Speaker Jassem Al Khorafi denied on Tuesday any crisis between Crown Prince Sheikh Saad Al Sabah and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al Sabah, reported the official Kuwaiti news agency, KUNA.
He ackowledged, however, that there might be a “difference in points of view, as is very common among brothers.”
“A crisis or rift, on the other hand, is out of the question, as close as the two are to one another," he added.
"As always, we take counsel from His Highness the Emir Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah. He is the one responsible for not just the royal family but all of us.”
Asked about a Parliament discussion of appointing royalty to high posts, he said "this is only natural in a democratic state as Kuwait."
He pointed out such discussions "are not to be taken as signs of a dispute between the government and the people." – Albawaba.com
