ALBAWABA - After a Russian submarine landed in Cuba for military drills, a Russian military expert said the Kremlin intended to launch nuclear attacks on American ships.
Igor Korotchenko said on Russian state media that the nuclear-powered submarine Kazan is the sole Northern Fleet vessel in Cuba. However, he noted that multiple multi-purpose Russian nuclear submarines execute varied missions in the Atlantic Ocean.
Korotchenko said that these roles include preventing American aircraft carriers and performing attacks with utmost efficiency, speed, and dependability. On Tuesday, the Russian Navy cruiser and nuclear-powered submarine Kazan simulated a missile strike on an enemy fleet, according to the Ministry of Defense.
The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs said these ships will remain in Havana from Wednesday until Monday. Cuba said that the vessels did not have nuclear weapons and did not threaten the area. Russian and Cuban officials called bilateral relations "historically friendly," the Associated Press reported.
Late last month, American authorities reported that President Joe Biden had permitted Ukraine to defend itself with US-made weaponry against Russian assaults or put up action plans in Kharkiv. It is unclear whether this rule includes the US-provided long-range missiles. In response to American long-range assaults on Russian territory, Korotchenko suggested destroying all Ukrainian power plants quickly and efficiently.
