Jordan's King Abdullah II called Monday for supporting efforts of the international community to transfer sovereignty to the Iraqis.
In an interview conducted by Director of Agence France Press Office in Amman Randa Habib, the Jordanian monarch expressed hope that the current talks in the United Nations will result in an agreement on the timing of the transfer of sovereignty to the Iraqis.
According to Petra, the King added that "we are in the final stages to prepare for training in Jordan more than 30,000 Iraqis." "There will be eight-week security courses, and every course will be attended by 1,500 Iraqis," he said.
The King underlined the importance of establishing an independent Palestinian state by 2005, stressing the importance of supporting the new Palestinian government led by Abu Alaa to succeed. (Albawaba.com)
