Jordan's King Abdullah II has appointed on Wednesday his royal court chief Faisal al-Fayez as Prime Minister to set up the Kingdom's government, following the resignation of Ali Abu Ragheb. Abu Ragheb has been Jordan's Prime Minister since June 2000.
On Tuesday, Jordan's Information Minister Nabil Sharif
affirmed that Abu Ragheb would submit his resignation to King Abdullah II on Wednesday.
In press statements on Tuesday, quoted by Petra news agency, Sharif added that Abu Ragheb headed on Tuesday the last session for his cabinet.
He said Faisal Fayez "is well-experienced man who has been very close to His Majesty King Abdullah and learned a lot from him."
Fayez, a member of the Bani Sakher tribe, one of Jordan's biggest, studied in the U.K. and holds a degree in international relations from Boston University. (Albawaba.com)
