Jordan's Health Minister Saeed Darwazeh announced on Friday the first human bird flu case in the Kingdom. According to Petra, the Minister said that the infected is an Egyptian citizen coming to the Kingdom from Fayoum, Egypt and that he was suffering from the disease before arrival to Jordan two days ago.
Abdel Fattah Saeed Mabrouk, who has been working in Kerak city since 2003, traveled to his family in Egypt three months ago where he was in a close contact with sick birds. "Mabrouk was suffering from high temperature, sore throat and flu symptoms so he was hospitalized at Kerak on Thursday evening,'' the Minister added, noting that Mabrouk has tested positive to the bird flu disease.
