Jordan's King Abdullah will arrive in Kuwait Sunday for talks with Kuwaiti officials on bilateral and regional issues, said reports.
It will be the monarch's second visit to the Gulf state. He visited Kuwait last year.
King Abdullah, the head of the current Arab summit, was assigned by the leaders at the March meeting to follow up on the 'Iraqi Case' and try to reach a compromise to end the conflict between Iraq and Kuwait.
The speaker of the Kuwaiti parliament, Jassem Mohammad Al Khorafi, told reporters that he "hopes that King Abdullah will listen to government's views regarding the issue of Kuwaiti prisoners of war held in Iraq and the agony of their families and loved ones."
"I hope the king's visit will enable him to contribute to efforts to secure the release of the Kuwaiti POWs," he said, quoted by the official Kuwait news agency (KUNA).
Khorafi, meanwhile, stressed that Arab states should work towards consolidation of regional stability and strengthening their security, and confronting "the common enemy" rather than engaging in inter-Arab squabbles.
The Jordanian monarch will meet with the emir, Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah, as well as Crown Prince Saad Al Sabah and other senior Kuwait officials.
