Japan's Foreign Minister Yoriko Kawaguchi arrived in Tunisia late Monday for a short official visit to discuss bilateral cooperation and the situations in the Middle East and Iraq.
Kawaguchi, making the first official trip to the north African country by a Japanese foreign minister, was welcomed on her arrival from Cairo by her Tunisian counterpart Habib Ben Yahia.
She was set to hold talks with Ben Yahia and President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali on Tuesday before heading back to Tokyo on Wednesday.
During her trip to Egypt on Monday, Kawaguchi and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak discussed joint cooperation projects in Iraq. (Albawaba.com)
