ALBAWABA - The Israeli media has brought attention to Hamas's recent reaction to President Joe Biden's proposal during talks between Tel Aviv and Hamas for a ceasefire and prisoner swap. As stated on Israel's "Channel 11,"

With its insistence on having the United States, Egypt, and Qatar as guarantor nations alongside Russia, China, and Turkey, Hamas has taken a more assertive stance. Israel and the United States have opposed this proposal, expressing worries about China's and Russia's participation in the talks.

Furthermore, "Channel 13" adds that Israel finds it difficult to accept Hamas' demand to put Gaza rebuilding ahead of prisoner releases. Regardless of how the negotiations turn out when they reach a certain point, Hamas also wants Israel to guarantee it won't engage in hostilities in the future.

Furthermore, Hamas demands that freed detainees be returned to their native locations and denies Israel's right to veto the names of Palestinian inmates who are scheduled for exchange.

Significant obstacles have stood in the way of the discussions as each party is steadfast in its demands. Speaking to Israel's Channel 7, Jonathan Goldberg underlined the need for a quick resolution while drawing attention to the precarious situation of Israeli detainees in Gaza and the inconsistent results of previous attempts at rescue.
