A bodyguard of Hamas spiritual leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin was assassinated Tuesday in the Gaza Strip when Israeli helicopters fired several rockets at his car, said reports.
The victim was identified as Abdel Hakim Manamne, 35. Three others were injured in the explosion, Israel Radio reported.
Al Jazeera satellite channel reported that ten Palestinians were injured in Deir Al Balah town in Gaza during clashes with Israeli troops. It added that Israeli tanks shelled a PA building in the area.
Meanwhile, two mortar bombs landed in Kfar Gaza, a kibbutz inside the Green Line, adjacent to the Gaza Strip, said the radio.
In another development, ten Palestinians were injured during confrontations with Israeli troops near the Martyrs junction (known to Israelis as Netzarim) and other nearby areas, said Al Jazeera staellite channel.
Clashes were also reported near the Neveh Dekalim industrial zone in the southern Gaza Strip.
The Jerusalem Post said that Palestinians hurled firebombs and stones at Israeli forces, adding that Israeli troops fired rubber bullets and tear gas to disperse dozens of Palestinians.
In the West Bank, a Jewish settler sustained minor wounds from stones hurled at his car at an intersection near the village of Rantis, said Army Radio, cited by the paper.
Clashes were also reported near the West Bank city of Tulkarem, said the radio.
