Three residents of the Palestinian village of Budrus were injured in clashes with Israeli forces Tuesday morning in the course of a protest against the construction of the so-called West Bank separation barrier.
Five left-wing Israeli activists were also arrested for questioning in the village, located north of the Jerusalem-Modi'in road.
Several dozen demonstrators showed up at the village Tuesday morning in order to hinder the construction of which started in the area about a year ago but was halted due to changes in the route.
The demonstrators clashed with Israel's Border Police forces, who responded with rubber bullets and tear gas, according to Israeli reports.
Elsewhere, Israeli troops arrested 36 Palestinians, "wanted" by Israel, in the West Bank overnight Monday, 13 of them in a pre-dawn arrest raid in the Jenin refugee camp.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Palestinians fired two Qassams into the southern Negev region. According to media reports, the two Qassam rockets were fired Tuesday morning from the Beit Hanoun area of the northern Gaza Strip into the western Negev region.
