ALBAWABA - Israeli bombardment on Syria killed nine people and left several others injured during an "Israeli incursion" in Daraa city, south of the capital Damascus, AFP reported citing the provincial government in Daraa on Telegram.
It said the Israeli shelling near the city of Nawa came after an "incursion, with "the occupation forces advancing for the first time to this depth", the statement read.
On the other hand, the Israeli army claimed on Thursday that the attack responded to fire from gunmen amid an operation in southern Syria.
The army further mentioned that the ground and air attacks led to the killing of "several fighters" in ground and air strikes.
"The presence of weapons in southern Syria poses a threat to the State of Israel," a military spokesperson revealed.
