More than 40 Palestinians were injured by Israeli fire Sunday, and four brothers alleged to be Hamas members were arrested as Israel announced a plan to declare northern parts of the West Bank military zones, said reports.

The latest woundings took place when three Palestinians were hurt Sunday in the south of the Gaza Strip, Palestinian hospital and security sources told AFP.

Two Palestinian teenagers were hurt during a clash at Khan Yunis between stone-throwing youths and the soldiers, who were guarding the Jewish settlement of Neve Dekalim, the hospital sources said.

The clash erupted after the funeral of 14-year-old Imad Zorob, who was shot dead during clashes that broke out Saturday after the funerals of two other stone-throwers who were killed in the same area earlier in the week.

And near in Rafah, at the border with Egypt, another Palestinian who was walking in a field was wounded by shots fired from the nearby Jewish settlement of Morag without apparent reason, the security sources said.

There was no Israeli army statement on the incidents, said the agency.

Earlier counts of the wounded by AFP reached 39. The victims were hurt Sunday overnight in the West Bank, including 24 in the autonomous city of Ramallah during a tank incursion, Palestinian hospital sources said.

Ten Palestinians were also injured in Hebron and two in Beit Jala, while another three were hit in Nablus, the head of West Bank hospitals, Moussa Abu Hmeid told the agency.

Palestinian hospital sources had earlier reported the death of a Palestinian man during the incursion in Ramallah.

Hmeid also said a 70-year-old Palestinian woman, Saadia Al Bakri, died of a heart attack after her house was attacked by Israeli tanks.

"Israeli soldiers prevented the ambulance from arriving on the scene and this woman could not receive treatment on time," he said.

He also described as "war crime and state terrorism" the death of a Palestinian ambulance driver during clashes in the region of Bethlehem.

Meanwhile, Haaretz reported that Israeli troops arrested four Palestinian brothers suspected of belonging to a Hamas cell that was planning to carry out terror attacks in Jerusalem during the holiday period of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Their father was also arrested. The arrests were made during the Israeli incursion in the West Bank city of Ramallah on Sunday morning - Albawaba.com
