Israeli police do not rule out that the motive behind the booby-trapped car which exploded Thursday afternoon in Netanya was nationalistic, reported Haaretz.

One person was seriously and another lightly wounded in the explosion.

Sharon police commander, Aharon Franko, was quoted by the paper as saying that suspicions of a nationalistic motive were growing due to the fact that the explosive device was very powerful and typical of those used in previous Palestinian attacks.

However, he added that the car alongside which the explosive device was placed belonged to a criminal known to the police, and that therefore the possibility of the incident resulting from of a dispute in the local underworld was also being investigated. The owner of the car was about to get into the car when the device exploded – Albawaba.com
