Israel on Wednesday deported four SLA militiamen after they secretly crossed into the Jewish state to seek asylum, reported the Daily Star newspaper.
An Israeli military vehicle dropped the four off in a deserted region in the Shabaa Farms and told them to walk toward the village of Shabaa. Lebanese police arrested them in Hasbaya, the paper added.
Police identified the four as Sandid Amasha, 22, Akram Hamed, 27, Hassan Shehaib, 27, and Wassim Ghasham, 36.
The four, who are from Hasbaya, entered Israel late Tuesday to seek asylum.
When Israel withdrew from south Lebanon in last May, about 6,000 collaborators who had lived in the occupied zone left the country for Israel, fearing revenge attacks.
Several hundred have since returned to Lebanon and more than 3,000 have been put on trial in Beirut for “collaborating with the Israeli enemy.” – Albawaba.com
