ALBAWABA - Saturday saw Israeli forces try again to penetrate southern Lebanon's western sector after failed operations earlier in the week. Airstrikes on Tyre and Beirut's southern suburbs, strongholds of Lebanon's Amal Movement, commanded by Speaker Nabih Berri, who is mediating peace talks, increased.

After meeting with Berri, Lebanese MP Simon Abi Ramia said that a "serious proposal" for a ceasefire is being explored under U.S. sponsorship with European, mainly French, involvement. "Progress has been made, but details regarding implementation mechanisms are still under negotiation, and input from all parties is awaited," Abi said.

Israeli ground operations increased as forces tried to advance into border communities near second-line villages as discussions continued. Israel retreated late Friday night after Hezbollah fighters on the Shama-Tayr Harfa-Jibeen axis resisted. On Saturday, renewed attempts sparked intense fighting in the same areas under wide artillery cover, targeting Hamoul and Alma al-Shaab.

Israeli forces sought to invade Al-Dhahira and Tayr Harfa, encountering violence, according to the National News Agency. Israeli airplanes bombed Majdal Zoun, Mansouri, and other communities with incendiary ordnance, the outlet reported.

Hezbollah increased rocket and drone attacks against Israeli military and civilian sites along the western Galilee shore, including Acre and Haifa bases. The organization claimed drone assaults on an Atlit naval commando base and missile strikes on military targets, including the Golani Brigade's Shiraga base.

Hezbollah attacked Israeli positions and settlements such Avivim and Yaroun near Maroun al-Ras in the central sector. Explosions and gunfire echoed throughout, underlining the battle.

Two structures near archeological sites in Tyre were destroyed by Israeli air assaults outside battle zones. Airstrikes on Beirut's southern suburbs followed repeated evacuation orders, worsening the situation.
