Palestinian sources reported Tuesday evening that Israeli troops had arrested the deputy leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestinian during the army's continuing raid on the West Bank city of Ramallah.

Abdel Rahim Mallouh is the deputy of Ahmed Saadat, who has been held by the Palestinian Authority since January.

In reaction to Mallouh's arrest, PFLP officials said, "all Israel is doing is strengthening our cause. We will continue our armed struggle."

Palestinian information minister Yasser Abed Rabbo condemned the arrest of Mallouh as a "dangerous precedent."

"We call on Israel to release Abdul Rahim Mallouh immediately and stop its aggression against the Palestinians," Abed Rabbo told AFP.

Meanwhile, Israel Radio reported that the soldiers discovered 10 full-assembled explosives. There are a total of seven more to locate in the city. Earlier Tuesday, Israeli troops arrested 52 Palestinians. (Albawaba.com)
