ALBAWABA - The remains of two captives who had been detained in Gaza since Hamas's October 7, 2023, assault on Israel have been found, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said on Wednesday.

The family claims that the Israeli military notified them that Yusuf Ziyadneh, 53, and his son, Hamza, 22, had been discovered dead in Gaza.

While working in Kibbutz Holit on October 7, Yusuf Ziyadneh and his three children, Hamza, Bilan, and Aisha, were captured by Hamas fighters.

On November 30, 2023, Bilan and Aisha were freed, which raised the possibility that Hamza and Yusuf were still alive. But those aspirations have been crushed by the subsequent finding of their corpses.

Protests demanding the repatriation of hostages from Gaza continue to be common across Israel, further escalating calls for a solution to the hostage issue.
