An Iraqi National Assembly delegation, led by chief of the Assembly’s Arab relations committee, Dr. Salim Mohammed Al-Kubaisi has left for Moscow on a several-day visit, the Iraqi News Agency reported Monday.

The visit is in response to an invitation extended by head of foreign relations at the Russian federal council, INA added.

Members of the Iraqi delegation are expected to hold parliamentary talks, dealing with ways of promoting bilateral relations, exchanging legislative expertise and coordinating in international forums and conferences, which would develop friendly ties between Iraq and Russia, the agency said.

In addition, the delegation is to meet with members of the Russian Federal Council and Duma for talks on the current international and Arab situations as well as US threats to attack Iraq, INA concluded. (Albawaba.com)
