“Pursuing their evil intentions” against the people of Iraq, the United States administration and its ally Britain on Sunday “violated Iraq's airspace” and attacked a civil area and installation, the official Iraq News Agency reported Monday.
In a statement to the news agency, an air defense command military spokesman said that British and U.S warplanes carried out 62 armed sorties coming from their bases in Kuwait backed by AWACS inside Saudi airspace and an E2C aircraft from Kuwaiti space.
