Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Friday stressed the importance of 'Qods Day' and said Muslims "can express themselves without their governments' interference." on this day.

Speaking to a huge crowd of worshipers at Tehran University campus, Khamenei said, "This year, Qods Day, (last Friday of Ramadhan, Oct 28) is even more important because of the defeat the Zionists faced in the Gaza Strip."

He also blasted efforts made by some Islamic governments to normalize relations with Israel and described it as "a plot hatched by the Americans and the Zionists."

The leader said, "This phenomenon (normalizing relations with the Zionist identity) is " a disgusting behavior which the Islamic governments should by no means accept." According to IRNA, he warned Islamic countries against normalizing relations with Israel and said, "They should not be kind to this occupying and oppressive regime to make the US glad." "The simple fact that countries try to keep their relations with the Zionist regime as a secret at the beginning shows that it is a sickening action."
