Iran will not discuss a possible three-month freeze in uranium enrichment in talks with EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana, a senior Atomic Energy Organization (AEO) official was quoted as saying on Tuesday. "Such issues will not be addressed in the next negotiations," AEO deputy head Mohammad Saeedi told the Iranian student news agency ISNA in Moscow.

Earlier, The Washington Times reported that Tehran is close to a secret deal that would have it suspend its uranium enrichment program for 90 days, in order to hold additional talks with several European nations.

Meanwhile, Iran's Vice President and head of AEO Gholam Reza Aqazadeh left Moscow for Tehran late Tuesday. While in Russia, Aqazadeh held two rounds of talks with head of Russian Federal Energy Agency Sergei Kiriyenko on Bushehr nuclear power plant and the timing of the project as well as with Secretary of Russian Security Council Igor Ivanov on bilateral ties and issues of mutual interest.

In a press conference before meeting his Russian counterpart, Aqazadeh had said seven to eight percent of work on Bushehr project remains so far and this could be completed within a maximum of six months.

According to IRNA, Russia had also announced that the power plant will not be operational sooner than November. However, after the end of Aqazadeh's talks with Russians, it was announced that the power plant will come on stream in November.
