Iran president stresses need for continuation of nuclear activities

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday stressed his government's support for continuation of nuclear activities at Isfahan's Uranium Conversion Facility, adding Iran will continue work at UCF.

Addressing thousands of Basij (volunteer forces) students, the president also noted Iran's efforts to gain access to "peaceful nuclear technology."

"Undoubtedly, the West cannot deprive us of what the Iranian nation has achieved through efforts and perseverance. Westerners are quite disarmed vis-a-vis the legal and technical aspects of Iran's nuclear program. Today they say they have suspicion about our intention. The West's confidence-building claim is also a lie. They intend to deprive Iran of fuel cycle," Ahmadinejad stated.
