Iran will play against Togo for a friendly match, which will be held in Tehran on November 12. <i>Tehran Times</i> reports that this friendly match is part of the preparations for the 2006 African Nations Cup and the World Cup in Germany. Togo and Iran will play another friendly in December. Togo finished top of their African zone qualifying group and emerged as a surprise for the qualifiers of the 2006 World Cup finals.
