Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said the country is facing a serious challenge which pits the new Islamic order pursued by Iran against the new world order engineered by hegemonic powers to secure their grip on the world.
In a meeting with the members of the Assembly of Experts on Thursday, the Leader reiterated the onus is on the people and officials to remain watchful, and maintain their presence on the scene at all determinig junctures, such as elections.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the propaganda blitz launched against Iran by the US indicates Washington's failure to confront the Islamic establishment.
According to IRIB, the Leader added the so-called "Greater Middle East" plan put forward by Washington aims to secure US and Israeli domination over the resource-rich Middle East region.
The Leader said Americans are trying hard to install a Zionist-led regime which could bring to power puppet governments in the hope that figureheads will pave the way for Washington to tighten its grip on the whole region.
