ALBAWABA - Iran mourns the death of 168 school girls who were killed in a joint attack by Israel and the United States last Saturday.
According to Tasnim News Agency, 168 students were killed in the US-Israeli military strikes on the Shajareh Tayyebeh elementary school in Minab, southern Iran, said Hossein Sadeghi, head of the Information and Public Relations Center of the Ministry of Education.
However, Tasnim revealed that the identities of 69 school girls remain unconfirmed, with 99 now fully identified and publicly named.
A video showing the mass funeral of the school girls was posted on social media, and Iranians were seen gathered raising the images of the little girls who were killed in the Saturday attack.
The girls’ elementary school in Minab city was hit during a joint United States and Israeli military attack against Iran on February 28, 2026. In response, Tehran launched a wider attack targeting Israel and American bases and sites in the region.
