ALBAWABA- Iran has executed Mohsen Langarneshin, a high-ranking figure convicted of espionage and collaboration with Israel’s Mossad, the country’s judiciary announced today.

According to official statements, Langarneshin had undergone covert intelligence training by Mossad agents in Georgia and Nepal.

He was arrested after Iranian intelligence traced his involvement in multiple covert operations over two years, including a major role in the May 2022 assassination of IRGC commander General Hassan Sayyad Khodayi in central Tehran.

Khodayi, a senior officer in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force (specifically Unit 840, tasked with extraterritorial operations), was shot five times at close range while sitting in his car. Iranian media and officials linked Langarneshin directly to that assassination, describing it as part of a broader Israeli operation to target key Iranian military and nuclear figures.
Tehran also alleged that Langarneshin’s espionage activities extended to other terror operations on Iranian soil. Israeli sources have long maintained that Khodayi played a role in Iran’s overseas military and possibly nuclear activities, though the details remain classified.
