India said Friday that no final decision had been taken on issuing a joint declaration after this weekend's summit between the leaders of India and Pakistan.
"No final decision has been taken on this," a foreign ministry spokeswoman said on the eve of the arrival of Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf for his three day visit.
Musharraf's summit with Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee will be held in the Taj Mahal town of Agra on Sunday
After the last Indo-Pakistan summit in Lahore in 1999, the two sides had agreed upon a Lahore Declaration which was signed by Vajpayee and the then Pakistan premier Nawaz Sharif.
On Thursday, Foreign Minister Jaswant Singh said the issue of a joint declaration would be decided by the "two leaders themselves." -- NEW DELHI (AFP)
