As part of its pioneering efforts in the Middle East, HP has announced its plans to partner with Tech Data’s recently launched enterprise solutions division – Azlan, to open its first Information Life-Cycle Management (ILM) Solutions Centre in Dubai Internet City, aimed at enabling customers to unlock the power of data through technology.
By putting information to work, HP will demonstrate how customers can transform their business and gain competitive advantage in the market through ILM, a set of solutions and services that captures, manages, retains and delivers data information according to its business relevance. The technology is also responsible for establishing data management and handling policies from the creation stage to the deletion stage.
Elaborating on the uniqueness of the ILM Solution Centre, Ashraf Helmy, StorageWorks Product Marketing Manager of HP Middle East said: “As the only centre of its kind in the region, we are pleased to be at the forefront of innovative technology along with our partner Tech Data. Our solutions are flexible and can be configured to meet the requirements of the customer, which is a major unique selling point of the centre. The benefits of HP’s ILM are manifold and include reduction of costs, streamlined processes and greater control to escalating volumes of information.
“In today’s information-based economy, HP understands the importance of a well-executed ILM strategy to a company’s success, through both our work with clients and our own experience. It’s not just about how information is stored; it’s about putting information to work. At HP, we lead the way with a comprehensive suite of ILM solutions that will demonstrate to customers how an organization can benefit from our bi-lingual solutions that include file archiving, email archiving, data protection and multi-tier architectural solutions.
Commenting on their involvement in the partnership, Azlan Middle East's Enterprise Director, Quentin Cornelius said: “We are pleased to be partnering with HP to deliver complete solutions. This is in keeping with our value added distribution model that we have recently launched under the brand name of Azlan. We view ILM solutions as an enabler for linking and extending value chains and improving agility, based on the value of information to the business. These cross-industry solutions will appeal to the financial services industry, telecommunication industry, oil and gas industry, manufacturing industry and the public sector.”
HP ILM leverages existing data and IT assets, to allow the organizations’ workforce access to information. It also helps solve key management challenges that a company may be facing with regards to cost of storage and storage management, scalability, interoperability between different applications, products, tools, utilities and data management.
HP ILM solutions help companies align applications, storage and policies – with information being the common component across all of these aspects of infrastructure ensuring that data is converted into information.
