The House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee has decided to conduct an inquiry into the United Kingdom's policy towards Cyprus in wake of the April 24 referenda on the plan for a comprehensive settlement to the Cyprus question, proposed by UN Secretary General Kofi Annan.

According to a press release issued by the Committee, and cited by CNA news agency, the inquiry will examine issues, including whether London should continue to back the Annan plan, the implications for the EU of the admission of a divided country, as well as what role the UK should play in the continuing process of negotiations between the two communities on the island.
