Relax, release and revive are the three key words for this summer at the first luxury resort on the west coast of the UAE, Danat Resort Jebel Dhanna.
According to general manager Manoj Kanwal, the secluded beach retreat offers the perfect location for a “stress-busting” natural break.
He said: “When it comes down to sun, sea and sand, we have all that here. But our guests are looking for something that sets a Jebel Dhanna break apart from the competition.”
The resort offers massage on the beach, or has kites for use by the guests as well as a wide range of ‘back to basics’ experiences for guests. Kanwal said: “Whether it is star-gazing at night, or learning a new sport, we want guests to remember back to their childhood – it’s surprisingly therapeutic.”
For animal lovers, Jebel Dhanna has exclusive access to tours of Sir Bani Yas Island; the nature reserve has a landscape of orchards, lakes, olive groves and forests where oryx and gazelles run free, and where giraffes and ostriches can also be seen along with 170 species of birds and butterflies
Kanwal said: “With only 108 rooms and almost a kilometre of secluded beach, it’s the perfect opportunity to learn a new sport – where people can’t see you struggling at the start!
“With a variety of water sports available throughout the week, and instruction available for beginners, we also have two floodlit tennis courts, two squash courts and a nine-hole, par-36 sand golf course and driving range.”
Guests can wind down at the end of the day at L’etoile, the new beach-front shisha café at Jebel Dhanna, complete with a telescope mounted on a tripod and pointed at the night skies to look at the galaxies.
Kanwal said: “We have all the modern, five-star necessities such as air-conditioning, satellite TV, cooling pools, and massage facilities, but we want to encourage guests to get back to basics and remember the simple pleasures in life – and enjoy the peace and quiet.”
