Hijra New Year Holiday Declared

Private sector companies are scheduled to remain closed throughout the United Arab Emirates on Muharram 1, 1423, for the occasion of the Hijra New Year. 

 

This was announced in a circular issued by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Matar Humaid Al Tayer, according to Gulf News

 

Al Tayer extended greetings on the glorious event to UAE President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, the government and people of the United Arab Emirates. 

 

In addition, the minister wished the UAE, the Arab and Islamic nations further progress and prosperity. (Albawaba.com)
