ALBAWABA - In a major escalation, heavy rocket fire targeted northern Israel, triggering sirens in Haifa, Shefa-Amr, Acre, Kiryat, and multiple other areas in the Galilee region, according to Hebrew media reports.
Yedioth Ahronoth detailed that a series of rocket interceptions occurred over Haifa and Kiryat. However, damage was reported from rockets landing in Kiryat Ata, where a bus station was struck, igniting several cars and injuring a 17-year-old boy who sustained minor shrapnel wounds. The incident caused significant destruction at the bus station and to nearby vehicles.
The Israeli Home Front Command reported that approximately 80 rockets were launched toward Haifa and the Upper Galilee in this barrage, with 28 individuals requiring treatment for various effects of the attack.
An Israeli military spokesperson later confirmed that around 90 rockets had been fired toward the northern region. The first wave, consisting of approximately 80 rockets, saw most intercepted, with damage recorded in impacted areas. In a second, smaller wave, around 10 rockets were fired, with some intercepted and others landing in open areas.
Israeli media outlets on Telegram circulated images and videos depicting burning cars and scenes of destruction in Kiryat, showing the immediate aftermath of the attacks.
