Not just another cup of coffee at the Sharjah International Airport, but a blend of one of the finest roasted beans worldwide. Costa Coffee opened its doors on the 7th of November 2006 to the delight of passengers and staff of Sharjah International Airport.
Sharjah International Airport is expanding its retail shops, food and beverage outlets and additional passenger services offering passengers choice and comfort during their travel. The Costa Coffee outlet is located at the New Terminal and is open to all passengers whether they are in the departures section, transit lounges or just arriving at Sharjah International Airport.
At the heart of the Airport’s commercial strategy is Dufry Sharjah, a worldwide presence in travel retail. Eugene Barry, General Manager of Dufry Sharjah, said “We are excited about the forthcoming expansion of the airport’s commercial sites, first of which is the introduction of Costa Coffee. The commitment of Sharjah Airport is to deliver the best to its growing and diversified passenger base, and Dufry Sharjah is working to upgrade the retail and commercial mix at the airport.”
Ali Salem Al Midfa, Director Sharjah Airport Authority, said “This is the first step towards many international Food & Beverage concepts to come. Our choice customer service program is continuously adapted to exceed general passenger expectations. We are happy to offer all our passengers the best in every aspect of their travel. Initially Costa Coffee has one outlet at the New Terminal and will expand in the future to other areas within the airport.”
Costa Coffee UAE is a division of Emirates Leisure Retail. Mr. Simon Holroyd, Regional Manager of Costa Coffee UAE added, “Costa Coffee was delighted to recently open our 30th UAE at Sharjah International Airport. We recognize the huge growth potential of Sharjah Airport, and look forward to bringing our product to the growing numbers of passengers who choose to use the airport. Costa Coffee UAE recently won the global award for service excellence, and we are very pleased to be associated with the commercial expansion project at Sharjah International Airport.”
The menu at the Costa Coffee outlet in Sharjah International Airport extends from tantalizing aromatic coffees, cold beverages, pastries, sandwiches and other light assorted refreshments. With the growing diversity in consumer profiles, the extension of the food and beverage concept promises to be the first of many more new amenities adding flavor to flyers’ experiences. With an ‘access to all’ location, it is easy to see why Costa Coffee is now a favourite among travellers, airline crew and airport staff. All passengers flying through or via the Sharjah International Airport now have the choice of a delicious frothy cup brewed for them.
Located in the midst of the thriving and bustling Sharjah city famed for its culture, heritage and numerous tourist attractions, Sharjah International Airport (SIA) is becoming one of the fastest growing airports in the region.
Established in 1932, the airport is currently the Middle East’s leading transport gateway due to its unique geographical position linking the East and West. Ideally placed in the heart of the UAE between Sharjah’s seaports on the Indian Ocean and Arabian Gulf, the airport offers fast and efficient cargo links throughout the country.
To cope with the dramatic increase in traffic, Sharjah International Airport has embarked on a four-fold expansion project scheduled for completion in early 2007. The expansion will herald a new and exciting era for the SIA, always intent on providing the very best services and facilities for passengers and visitors as well as establishing Sharjah’s position as a premier travel and business hub within the region.
