Four leaders of the Palestinian Islamic movement Hamas expelled from Jordan last year plan to launch an appeal after the Muslim holidays, the group's spokesman said Wednesday.
Lawyers will file the appeal in Jordanian court "immediately after" the Eid el-Fitr holidays which mark the end of the Ramadan fasting month, Ibrahim Ghosheh told the Qatari newspaper Al-Watan.
Khaled Meshaal, head of the Hamas political bureau, is also among the four Palestinians expelled in November 1999 who settled in Doha, where they are banned from any political activity.
In November, however, Jordan's Prime Minister Ali Abu Ragheb met Meshaal in Doha on the sidelines of an Islamic summit, according to the Jordanian newspaper Al-Dustour.
Jordan, which has a peace treaty with Israel, accused the four Jordanian passport-holders of plotting "illegal activities threatening the stability of the kingdom and its foreign relations."
