Palestinian militants in Gaza fired rockets into Israel's South on Thursday, despite warnings from the Jewish state that they would not tolerate any further attacks, AP reported.
Only one of the rockets fired exploded in Israel and no one was injured, according to the Israeli military.
The attacks are liable to raise tensions after a period of relative quiet between Israel and Gaza, following the ceasefire in November.
New Israeli defense minister, Moshe Yaalon, warned last week that there would be consequences if rockets from Gaza continued to hit Israel.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attacks but many suspect the al-Qaeda linked organization, Islamic Jihad.
