On September 30, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG of Stuttgart, Germany, will present four new models at the Paris Motor Show “Mondial de l’Automobile”: Until October 15, 2006, the Stuttgart-based sports car manufacturer will display the 911 Targa 4 (S), the 911 GT3 RS, the Cayman and the Boxster (S) with new engines – the first time it has done so at a trade fair.

The wide scope of the products shows that we are always working on further developing our sports cars and are continually searching for improvements.“
With the 911 Targa 4 (325 bhp) and the 911 Targa 4S (355 bhp), Porsche is displaying two new versions of the eleven series, which for the first time are being offered exclusively with permanent all-wheel drive and a body that is 44 millimeters wider at the rear. Like their predecessor (the 996), the elegant sports cars have a large glass roof and a foldaway rear window. The Targa 4(S) will reach dealers in November.
From October, the 911 GT3 RS will be launched in the Middle East market. This purist variant of the GT3 is particularly suited to use on the racetrack, and stands out due to its performance and the undiluted driving experience of a racing car. The exceptionally high-revving engine of the RS has a displacement of 3.6 liters and produces 415 bhp at 7,600 rpm. The maximum engine speed is 8,400 rpm.
The Boxster and Boxster S, which will also celebrate their public premiere in Paris, started the new model year (from August 1, 2006) with increased performance and torque. The 2.7-liter engine in the Boxster now develops 245 bhp, representing an increase of 5 bhp. The torque has increased to 273 Nm, available from 4,600 rpm. Meanwhile, fuel consumption has been reduced by 0.3 liters per 100 kilometers to 9.3 liters per 100 kilometers. The Boxster S engine, whose displacement has been increased from 3.2 to 3.4 liters, develops 295 bhp at 6,250 rpm – 15 bhp more than the previous model. The 3.4-liter engine has 340 Nm of torque.
On July 29, the new Cayman was rolled out. The two-seater sports coupé, which is based on the Boxster series, has a 2.7-liter horizontally-opposed six-cylinder engine that develops 245 bhp. Following the successful market entry of the Cayman S in spring 2005, the Cayman completes the Porsche sports car range.
