Iraq asserted it has no weapons of mass destruction, according to the official Iraq News Agency Sunday.
In reply to allegations restated by British Prime Minister Tony Blair that Baghdad works on possessing weapons of mass destruction, a spokesman for the Iraqi Foreign Ministry told INA that Blair evaded answering Iraq’s offer from February 28, 2002, on being prepared to receive a British mission sent by Blair to show the Iraqis how and where Iraq produced such weapons.
“If Mr. Blair wants to prove his allegations, Iraq’s offer is still valid and we again challenge him to give just one proof. He is unable to prove like the inspection teams who failed before,” the spokesman said and added that Blair continues using double-standard policy by arousing fears from alleged weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, while he is deliberately denying the weapons of mass destruction possessed by Israel.
According to INA, Israel refuses to implement United Nations and Security Council resolutions to get rid of such weapons. The agency further said that the British premier’s “blind pursuance of extremists in the U.S. evil administration” put him in a position contradicting that of 170 British parliament members in his Party and the British people’s stand, the spokesman said.
“We assure Mr. Blair and the entire world that Iraq has no weapons of mass destruction… since 1991 we challenged the Special Commission and now we challenge anyone to give just one proof,” the spokesman said. (Albawaba.com)
