Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi
said in Tehran Tuesday that proposing a plan which obliges the government to go on with its uranium enrichment programs is a right of parliament representatives.
Speaking with reporters, Asefi, who also serves as deputy foreign minister for legal and parliamentary affairs, stressed that the government has always heeded to Majlis viewpoints.
He referred to "monitoring and supporting the government" as the two major duties of the parliament and deemed it ideal if the two were acted upon simultaneously, IRNA reported.
Responding to a question on the reasons for proposing such a plan, he said it was the parliament which had to recognize the necessities of calling for such a plan.
He dismissed any disagreements between the parliament and the cabinet and stressed that the parliament had the right to discuss any topic it chose. (Albawaba.com)
